Garlic Mashed Potatoes

3 lbs Yukon gold potatoes

2 cloves garlic, crushed

¼ cup butter

½ cup half and half

salt and pepper to taste

 

Wash, peel and dice potatoes, leaving some peelings on if desired.  Peel 2 cloves garlic and crush.  Add potatoes and garlic to 4 quarts boiling salted water.  Cover and allow to cook until tender.  Strain water from potatoes and mash to desired consistency.  Add butter, half and half, and salt and pepper to taste, and blend well.  Serve warm topped with pan drippings or gravy if desired.
