Angel Trifle

  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 3 cups fresh strawberries
    8 oz whipped cream cheese
  • 16 oz whipping cream
  • 1 prepared angel food cake (10 inch), cut in cubes
  • Chop strawberries reserving 3-4 for top.
  • Beat whipping cream until stiff peaks form.  Add sugar and cream cheese and blend well.  Gently stir in  chopped berries. Spread about 1/3 of the whipped cream mixture onto bottom half of trifle bowl.  Add layer of cubed angel food cake.  Spread 1/3 whipped cream mixture onto cubes.  Add remaining angel food cake cubes.   Cover wiith remaining whipped cream mixture. Top with whole strawberries.
  • Refrigerate 1 hour. Arrange remaining berries on top of cake before serving.
